Received a letter today from FCA that they are extending the warranty on the water pump from the 5 year/100k miles out to 7/unlimited miles. I have a 2016 Overland with 5.7L Hemi. Says it covers some 2013-2017 JGC and Dodge Durango’s.

Engine started idling rough and then the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they hooked the computer up to it and said #5 cylinder was misfiring and I needed a new engine.

My 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to have the head gasket replaced and water pump. It is under 60,000 miles (59,400) but 5 1/2 years old. Jeep is not honoring the warrantee since it is over 5 years old. This is a very expensive repair. Any thoughts or advice? Is this common problem with Jeeps? Should I get rid of car? I’m wondering if more problems will appear.
The problem goes back in WK2s in the 5.7L Hemi to model year 2011 with the use of valve train multi-displacement systems. Needed a replacement engine in mine a bit over a year ago. Bob N. 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L, 1999 Cherokee XJ 4.0L (off-road enhanced)
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2wd 5.7 Hemi Ok - I bought a used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 90,000 miles on it and after first week I’m having problems. It’s stalling out and throwing a PO339 code and the sensors have been replaced three times.

No horn. 2.)No driver side headlight, No high beam auto, when high beam auto engaged the instrument cluster lighting turns off and no headlights. 3.)No windshield wipers.
